ฐานข้อมูล ScienceDirect ได้มีการเพิ่มอรรถประโยชน์ให้กับผู้อ่านบทความวิจัย โดยมีการทำ hyperlink เชื่อมโยงคำศัพท์หรือคำสำคัญในเนื้อหาของ fulltext ในฐานข้อมูล ScienceDirect (ScienceDirect Topics) ไปยังแหล่งทรัพยากรอื่น ๆ ที่อธิบายความหมาย หรือให้ข้อมูลเพิ่มเติม
