ต้นชะมวงและใบชะมวง
(ต้นที่บ้านผู้เขียนปลูกมาสิบปีแล้ว)
ชะมวง เป็นพันธุ์พืชท้องถิ่นในภูมิภาคเอเชียตะวันออกเฉียงใต้ ในประเทศไทย พม่า มาเลเซีย ลาว กัมพูชา เวียดนาม และอินโดนีเซีย พบตามป่าดิบชื้นทั่วไป รวมถึงที่ราบลุ่มที่มีความชื้นพบสมควร พบตามป่าที่มีความสูงจากระดับน้ำทะเล 600 เมตร ขึ้นไป ในประเทศไทยสามารถพบได้ทุกภาคของประเทศ แต่จะพบได้มากในแถบพื้นที่ภาคใต้และภาคตะวันออก ส่วนภาคอื่นๆจะพบได้ประปรายบริเวณใกล้แม่น้ำลำคลองหรือลำห้วย
